One Day More

(Re-posted from Kickstarter)

One day more… another day, another destiny. John le Carré

October 2014 C.E. witnessed the final day of No Pineapple Left Behind’s Kickstarter campaign. For twenty-nine days, Subaltern Games had slogged through Twitter, endured repeated stress injuries, did that thing where they got bored with the playlist they were listening to but they were mostly focused on coding so they didn’t change it, talked to countless backers and writers, and worked really hard all the time.

But at last, that terrible day did dawn, and No Pineapple Left Behind had raised c. $17,000 out of the necessary $35,000.

Undaunted, the members of Subaltern Games donned their armor, whereupon Seth, Captain of Industry, gave this now-famous speech:

From this day to the ending of the world,

But we in it shall be remembered-

We few, we happy few, we Subaltern Games

For who to-day that sheds their blood with me

Shall be my coder or artist or whatever, be they ne’er so vile,

This day shall gentle their condition;

And backers throughout the world now a-bed

Shall think themselves proud that they were here,

And hold their heads high whiles any speak

That left no pineapples behind with us on Saint Crispin’s day.
